Get Help With Summer Childcare Costs Using a Tax-Free Childcare Account

If you have children under 12 who go to nursery, after-school clubs, playschemes, childminders, or if you’re thinking about summer camps, it’s worth setting up a tax-free childcare account.

With these accounts, for every £8 you pay in, the government adds in £2, so you effectively get 25% extra. You can receive up to £2,000 per child each year (this increases to £4,000 for children with disabilities).

You then use the account to pay Ofsted-registered childcare providers. And it’s not just parents you can pay in – grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members can contribute too.

Many families who can use this support haven’t set up an account yet. If you’re an employer, it’s worth sharing this with your staff to help spread the word.

One thing to note: you can’t use this scheme if either parent earns more than £100,000 (adjusted net income) in the current tax year. Get in touch if you’d like more information.
