Phew! It’s been quite the year for MMG Chartered Accountants. As you might have heard, we merged with Finlaysons, Tough and Walker Harris through 2021 and rebranded as MMG Chartered Accountants in April this year.
But what does this mean? Well, the combination of these businesses operating under MMG provides significant benefits to our clients through increased accessibility, enhanced experience, and comprehensive qualifications. It also means that we increased our headcount from 35 to 67! What you might not know is that through the merger, we acquired three new office bases in the heart of the Perth, Crieff and Brechin communities.
MMG is proud of its roots, and we care about the communities in which we live and work. With so much change afoot, we’ve created a handy guide to our office locations and the friendly faces you’ll find working there.
Perth
Home to the longest river in Scotland (119 miles in length, to be exact!) MMG is now proudly based in the heart of the Perth community. Those previously serviced under the Finlaysons name will be familiar with this space, and you can find us at 4 Albert Place. Here you will also find our greatest asset – our team. You’ll meet the likes of company Directors Klarrisa Robertson and Jim McEwen, who thrive on assisting clients in structuring their accounting, tax and audit needs. You may also bump into FFCA-qualified Jeremy McDonagh dealing with all thing’s taxation.
Crieff
Bonnie Crieff. A picturesque town in the Perthshire countryside and a whisky lover’s dream! Again, like our Perth base, we inherited the Crieff office when merging with Finlaysons – and we’re so glad we did. We understand the importance of being visible and present in smaller communities. Having premises smack bang in the middle of Crieff’s centre (15 High Street) is a fantastic opportunity to liaise with our clients. Occupied by familiar faces, such as Director Susan Warren and Senior Accounts Manager and Chartered Tax Adviser, Hannah Cobban, our Crieff office door is always open, and the cuppas are on us!
Dundee
Where it all began. MMG’s journey was first established over 100 years ago, then known as Drummond Dickson, in Dundee’s city centre. Since then, a thing or two has changed, but we’re proud of our Dundonian roots. Our head office is based in Bell Street (the big stripey building, you literally can’t miss it!) and we’ve been servicing clients from here since 2006.
Brechin
If it’s community spirit you’re looking for, we know where to find it! After acquiring Walker Harris, we found ourselves with a cosy office space based at 27 St David Street in Brechin’s town centre. With an open-door policy, and a small team of accountancy specialists, this hub is your home as much as it’s ours. Don’t hesitate to pop your head in and say hello!
Montrose
Another office, I hear you say?! That’s right. While our HQ might be based in Dundee, we’re all for keeping a strong presence in Angus’ smaller towns. In fact, 10 of our teammates work from our Montrose premises, including company Director Craig Robertson and Accounts Manager Louise Henderson. You can find us at 182 High Street, a short distance from the sandy shores of Montrose beach.
Forfar
Last but certainly not least on our virtual tour of MMG is Forfar. Close to Glamis Castle and team members such as Accounts Advisor Karen Proctor and Payroll Manager Ryan Mackie, we’re based at 10b New Road and available for an in-person chinwag anytime.
