What are your responsibilities for the role?
- Responsible for planning and executing risk-based audits for Commercial and Charitable clients
- Active engagement with senior staff to gain a good understanding of the client and their objectives
- Identify and record areas of risk relevant to clients’ and their industries
- Work under the supervision of an Audit Manager and lead a team of junior auditors
- Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within the audit team
- Ensure compliance with auditing standards, regulations and best practices

What are your responsibilities for the role?
- Analysis of Client Records
- Liaising with client to obtain any missing/unclear information, seek explanations and challenge client assertions
- To ensure you record all accounting adjustments required to produce financial accounts and tax returns
- Ensure the correct disclosure of items in the accounts in accordance with UK GAAP
- Reconciliation of all control accounts
- Highlight any transactions for review where the correct treatment is unclear considering tax implications
- Maintain and update client system notes covering your areas of responsibility as and when necessary
- Preparation of business tax computation and or/return and personal tax computation and/or return for business owners
- Preparation of year end working papers file to a high standard
- Preparation of Accounts and Tax Returns (Business and Personal)
- Detailed analytical Review of Accounts and identification of tax saving or business improvement measures
- Preparing Final packages for client approval
- Follow all processes in place for the role such as completion of checklists and updating of workflows
- Provide support, assistance and cover for subordinates as and when required
- Assist clients and subordinates with queries using technical knowledge and training as required
- Assist in any other work as required
- Has the ability to effectively prepare a set of financial accounts for select clients from prime records.

What are your responsibilities for the role?
- Preparation of annual accounts, business tax and personal tax.
- Identification of tax issues i.e. P11D, S455 tax, loss offsets, VAT implications, MTD requirements etc.
- Provide support, assistance and cover for subordinates as and when required. As such, must be capable of undertaking all jobs of subordinates.
- Review work undertaken by subordinates and record & feedback the results of their weekly Accountability scores to identify any issues.
- The scheduling and allocation of work in the portfolio for subordinates and provision of technical assistance and guidance as and when required.
- Keep up to date with all relevant features and functionalities added to the software packages being utilised and train colleagues and clients in their use.
- Keep up to date with all relevant accounting and tax developments which have an impact on your areas of responsibility and train subordinates accordingly.
- Maintain a log of CPD activities undertaken and host training update sessions for staff and clients as and when appropriate.
- Communicate with clients to obtain all relevant information required to undertake your work in a timely manner.
- Ensure all relevant processes are followed and workflows and checklists updated as necessary.
- The provision of agreed outputs to either client or senior in the agreed format by the agreed deadline together with all relevant analysis, assumptions and explanations (this may involve attendance at client meetings to explain outputs).
- Ensure all relevant deadlines are met regarding the lodging of accounts and tax returns.
- Assist in any other work as required.
- Preparing fee proposals/terms of engagement prior to work being carried out.
